PI pattern tiles

PI sculpture tile.

This project is ispired by the international pi day (3.14)

This customizable design helps you to create special tiles, you should use them logos or 3D banners… etc.

On the tiles there is the number PI in 3D. 

Every digits appears as a vertical bar as high as the digit's value. The bars are organized in a square matrix and they has custom shape (square, circle, hexagon or - the most important - number).

You can put a big letter in the centre of the tile. It should be printed in different color than the tile with letter hole in it.

You can customize :

• tile size
• number of digits in one tile
• number of tiles
• text on tile
• digit bar shape

STL generation, print:

• generate tiles individually
  • tile base
  • tile letter
• print the base tile and the letter in different color.
• recommended: print the base layers in different color.
• put it together in one tiled wall
• Make attention to the extrusion width and the infill parameter, and width-related slicer settings.
  • Helps more accurate printing
  • Helps faster printing

Attention:

• The stl generation process is time consuming with openscad 2021.
• Faster with the 2023 version.
• The printing is more time consuming
• The print time depends the number of the digits you use in on tile.
• You must install the sqaure_pixel-7.ttf font.
