Story

I think Lego is awesome and I've passed that enthusiasm on to my three kids. So when my wife and I decided to make one room in the house dedicated to building Lego, I instantly knew I wanted to model some Lego-themed letters to decorate the room.

The letters in the photos are slightly different from the models I've made available here. That's only because my first efforts only included the six letters I needed for the one project. Once I went back and did the full alphabet, I unified a lot of the features.

Letter Dimensions

To print the letters at their original scale, you will need a printer with at least a 160x240 mm print bed. This requirement is the same for all letters.

Width160 mm20 studs
Height240 mm30 studs

Printing

I've successfully printed letters in PLA and PETG. Because of the nature of the models, the specific print settings don't matter too much (infill, number of walls, etc.), so whatever your favorites are, it should turn out pretty well. Just be aware that it's normal for the slicer to need a little longer than models of similar size just because there are SO many walls on the studs it has to account for.

Compatibility

I have not done the necessary rigorous adjustments to the model to make them compatible with Lego bricks, mostly because my purpose for wanting the letters was purely decorative, not to serve as base plates. I may update them in the future to be compatible if there's interest.
