Edit 1/30/25: slight change to make box rectangular, and full multicolor version for Sprawlopolis and Tussie Mussie available here.
This is a small hinged card box I made specifically as a hard, protective travel case for my Button Shy games. I adapted to fit a few different sizes. Everything prints without supports, tolerances up to .2mm, and uses a leftover piece of filament as the hinge pin. (I got the idea from this awesome box.)
The smallest box is perfect for one Button Shy game sleeved. If you get too many expansions you need to print the big box, especially if sleeved. The “Big” box fits a deck of standard sized playing cards. The “Giant” Box I have not printed but should be a good size for holding large amounts of cards.
Small Box: 100mm x 68mm x 16mm
Big Box: 100mm x 68mm x 27mm
Giant Box: 100mm x 68mm x 54mm
Model files for 6x2 Magnets (I liked these best), 8x3 magnets (very strong), and a version without magnets.
I have a few top pieces with words for certain games. Naturopolis, Sprawlopolis, Tussie Mussie, and a generic Button Shy.
Instructions: You need to rotate the top so the largest flat face is flat on the build plate, as shown in the pictures. Customize the box however you like and print without supports. Slide a piece of filament through the hinge leaving about 1-2mm of excess on each side. Use a flame/heat source to warm the end (1-2seconds max) and then press the hot plastic against a flat surface, locking the hinge into place. Glue in magnets, use my Magic Magnet Tool to get the polarity correct.
