Mini spool for saving those left over pieces of filament that usually takes up way to much space on the shelf.
This small spool can be stored standing in the shelf as it polygonal shape stops it from rolling away.
Two versions are supplied, 20mm and 30mm wide. They hold about 40g and 80g of filament. Compared to a Prusa filament box they are quite small and six of them take up about the same space as two normal filament spools.
The filament end can be fastened in a hole in one of the spokes. The hole for the spool holder is much smaller than the hole in standard spools to minimize the tilting of the small spools, but still fits on the Prusa spool holder. The diameter of the filament roll is similar to the one on most standard rolls, this reduces the risk of old or brittle filaments breaking from internal stresses as is common if the filament is respooled on a to small cylinder. Single part, prints in place, uses about 20/25g of filament.
Note:
The model is heavily optimized and might be challenging to print with some filaments.
Print with 5 perimeters to get nice bridges.
Print time is 40min and 65min at 150mm/s.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
