This is a Mod for the Popular "Filament Spool Switcher & Winder" Design by @MiklosKiszely_486882

The spooler winder is an amazing piece of mechanical genius but when using this with a drill you have to man the drill and many of them stop suddenly which jerk the unit and pops the spool out of the unit or causes stress on the axle for the winder and you end up replacing the axle if you use this system often. The stress from this if the spool is moving at a great speed can even crack the frame if you have it bolted down.

So I created this Electric Motor mod that simply bolts in place of the hand winder and requires very little. A One-Way Bearing, a 22mm Standard Bearing, a small DC geared motor, a small cotter pin and a few M3x10mm screws.

Parts List:
One Way Bearing (CSK8P): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073HRCHBG

DC Motor (200-300RPM): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072N84V8S

Standard Bearing: https://www.amazon.com/Pack-608-2RS-Ball-Bearing-Skateboards/dp/B07C6FL8TW

Optional
Speed Controller: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JEXJXAC

Toggle Switch: https://www.amazon.com/mxuteuk-Position-Household-Appliances-KCD3-101/dp/B0B6TM5FYH

Power Adaptor: https://www.amazon.com/GuanTing-Universal-adapters-Converter-Transformer/dp/B086T1N5R4

I personally setup a Speed Controller with mine, however I have included a switch box for a standard On/Off toggle switch that you can pickup from the Auto Parts store. The Power Controller I recommend already has a switch built into it. Just keep in mind, as per the comments the sticker has +/- Mixed up on the PSU input. I have also linked a 12V 2A Power Adaptor that can be used if you don't have a spare one laying around. (Come on, we all know we have a drawer full of power adaptors you have NO idea what to do with.)

All in all this project costs about $30-35 if you need all the parts. I personally wanted a clean power regulator setup. The motor itself comes in many different RPM versions in the stepped down gearing. I would recommend 200-300RPM, do NOT go any higher than 300RPM you need to drive a decent force with this. I would personally buy a 200RPM unit with a bit more power after using the 300RPM but it picks up speed slowly.

You can also use your own motor but you will need to make an adaptor or redesign the Motor plate.

Upcoming Enhancements:

- (COMPLETED) Instead of using the belt, direct drive gears. Eliminates the cost of the belt drive and reduces pressure on the Axle Gear while still maintaining all function.

- (IN PROGRESS) After moving to axle drive combine the support column for the axle with the Motor drive system and making it one unit

- Modular Motor Plate - Instead of a fixed plate for the Motor, create a 4-bolt and blank plate that the user can drill their own holes for the motor into the 4mm thick plate.
