Update [2024-11-12]: Just to make clear, there are several versions to use according to printer capability:
Also changed the position of the model, to half-open, so it is easier to “unstick” it from itself.
Update [2020-03-06]: minor improvements, chamfered some edges, slightly increased the diameter of the holes for the spring, since it was annoying/hard to insert the spring.
Original: The pegs on those Ikea Octopus hangers kept breaking, so I designed a direct replacement. After modeling it, I searched on Thingiverse and found a basically identical model, so I added this as a remix.
Since the comments on the "original" thing claimed it breaks as much as the Ikea ones, unless it's made of nylon filament (which I don't have), I altered the design for a hinged type, so the plastic isn't constantly deformed back and forth.
It's printed as one piece, flat on the bed, no supports. I printed the 0.2 clearance one on my prusa mk3 with no problem, but I included files for 0.35 and 0.5 clearance versions.
Other settings I used: 0.3 layer height for print speed and 30% infill so the hinge has some structure.
The holes for the metal wire are tight, but manageable, better tight than loose.
The author marked this model as their own original creation. Imported from Thingiverse.
