This LED strip base has a mount for a FastLED/WLED controller called yawl-controller. The pushbutton switch for the controller (when mounted under the pcb) has an opening in the case accessible from the top. This version has no text on the front, but photos show the one I created, I added a personal message.

To create the items on top that insert into the channel, use translucent or transparent filament. Print with 0% infill, 3 perimeters, no bottom layer, and 4 top layers. Add a rectangle to the bottom of your item that is 12.1mm deep and 9mm high, also 0% infill, no bottom layer. It helps if you can find your slicer's infill line directions and set them to be parallel instead of crosshatch. In Cura the line direction would be [45,45]. If you are printing a text insert, print it with the text flat against the build plate.

The DC power jack is this one from Amazon that I happened to have. I sized the screw holes for M3 or M2.5. The controller is orderable from JLCPCB (see github linked above).

You can use any 10mm wide LED strip. I used a 144 LED/m strip cut to fit for maximum resolution and created segments in WLED for each of my top items so each can have their own effect.

This is only the second design I've ever made from scratch, please forgive errors.

Errata 7/3/2023 - two of the yawl-controller holes are misaligned. It still works fine with two screws. I'll fix in a future revision, tinkercad isn't easy to fix things.
