MBT 2" Union Plug

I needed a plug to stop up the pipe unions in my hot tub while fixing the pump. Since the since the gate valves already in the system leaked profusely, I printed these plugs to stop up the unions while I worked on the pump. They are for 2" MBT unions. The 2" measurement is the pipe inner diameter, the plug itself is a little over 3 inches with a male buttress thread. Sorry I didn't get any photos with the plugs installed in the unions, but I went back after and took a photo showing the fittings they were attached to.

Print instructions

I printed these on a Prusa I3 with a .2 mm "quality" layer height in PLA. I changed the default settings to a concentric bottom fill pattern, 3 perimeters, and 25% infill to give it more rigidity. Printing in the orientation in the STL file is best since the mating surface will be on the bed. Use a smooth rather than textured bed. No supports were necessary in this orientation.
