These rectangular bases are for One Page Rules' Warfleets game (or similar).
Bases:
- Bases are sized such that the underside will fit a bit of metal flashing and a 1.6mm deep magnet.
- Square hole on top accepts a small alphabet bead so that you can better identify models while playing. the beads I use are these ones from Michaels but any square bead that's no bigger than 8mmx8mm should work.
- Bases are separated so they print nicely on an FDM printer and then glue together.
- You can print and play with just the top parts if you like; the bottoms are only required if you want to magnetize the bases.
Stems:
Update: For as nice as the fluted 3D printed stems are, I found I much preferred to replace them with 1/8" (3mm) aluminum rod. Cheap, easy to cut, and robust. the ABS-like resin I used likes to flex over time from keeping the ships upright and the rod fixed that, plus its easy to cut them to any length you'd like.
- Stems were designed to be printed standing up on a resin printer; don't know how well they'll work out printed in FDM.
- 30mm stem is good enough for 99% of ship models. the longer stems I typically only use for smaller models due to the bendy nature of ABS resin
- stems should fit your typical 3mm mounting hole on ship models. snug fit if you use a 7/64 drill bit to modify your ship holes and wiggle the bit a little.
- 65mm reinforced stem was made for those really large, heavy ships that would otherwise flex the stem. 30mm stems are generally short enough that heavy ships, as long as they can fit on it, won't flex.
