This is the split-able mold to produce the lower bracket of my high racer recumbent bike, which is a velomotion scopa.

I printed all parts of the mold. (PETG, 0.1mm, some hours)

Following steps are: clean a bit more artefact, wax steps between layers and all surfaces which will be in contact with the epoxy.

To maintain parts of the mold I/you will need:

  • 3 threaded rods (Ex: M6*95, imperial shoul work too if < 7.5mm)
  • 6 bolts and washers matching above rods
  • 6 piece of wood to not damage printed parts
  • 3 clamps, with +/- 175mm capable
  • wax to assure demolding and smooth surfaces
  • epoxy and carbon (+/- 36ml or cm3: I let you do the math for imperial and do the math according to ratio resin/fiber)

I tested it.

As I hurried a bit I didn't fill up properly the mold.

Mods are to come, here are the idea after my first attempt:

  • Only one clamp
  • More space between walls to pass fibers
  • More angle to demold
  • Ejector wells
