My first attempt at a 3D modeled Chess set, inspired by the classic Staunton set, but with a simple and “geometric” spin.
The set was modeled in TinkerCAD; a free, browser-based 3D modeling program available online. Its abilities are somewhat limited, but it is an excellent first step for beginners like myself. I was surprised by how approachable it was.
If you like the set, please consider making a donation so that I can continue my studies and perhaps graduate to a more robust program, which would allow me to create better models and continue to improve.
The set has not yet been printed, and I may update it once I have the opportunity to test it out for myself. I am also working on a board design to go with it.
UPDATE: I am printing out the pieces as I type this. I'm taking another look at the Knight, because I feel it needs some adjustment. This set will be updated once I have had a chance to physically inspect the printed pieces.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
