Upon setting my house up with Philips Hue smart bulbs I wanted to retain the existing way to turn the bulbs on/off. I didn't want to buy the Philips Hue buttons due to it's lack of automations outside of the Philips Hue eco-system, so I decided to run them through my SmartThings eco-system and added buttons for each room but didn't like the idea of leaving the switches exposed so I figured I'd design a plate to cover the switches.
Notes: I decided to print these using my SLA printer for a higher finish product quality, but I suppose they can be printed using an FDM printer but as seen below the blanks have very thin walls so they may fail.
After printing I sanded them all down and sprayed them with a white gloss paint to match the existing switch plates.
Then went around the back edge with double-sided tape.
I designed these in a way so they can go straight over the existing light switches, I didn't like the idea of having them just stuck to the wall and still have the switch exposed.
I even made covers to go over switches I didn't want turned off, for example an outdoor floodlight camera, even for my bathroom I made an off-set cover to cover the light in my bathroom with still giving access to the fan and heat lamp switches.
