So yeah, I got the Perrin boot handle, but when I cracked it open, the instructions had you drilling one of the push pin holes out to put in a crush nut.  I looked at crush nuts for smaller hardware, and yes you could use an M4 bolt and a smaller crush nut, but I would have had to wait for that, and it would be hard to remove in order to just replace the push pin to revert to stock.

I measured and made a nut holder that you can hold in place, and it will clip on to the edge of the metal, then you just need to bolt the Perrin or printed handle on to that nut whilst holding the end against the metal.  You'll see what I mean when you print the part and poke it in to the boot so that the holes align, the raised angled end will grab the edge.

Pause the print and place your captive nut.  The boot liner bends so that if you can hold the nut in place whilst you get it started.
