Butcher Paper Roll Holder

A stand to hold rolls of craft paper or butcher paper. This model will require some additional items you can purchase at your local  hardware store. There is also some basic math skills required to ensure you purchase the correct lengths. To assemble this you will need the following:

• 1x left side of the model
• 1x right side of the model
• 2 or 3 pieces of ¾" schedule 40 PVC pipe or  wooden dowels with an outside diameter of 1 1/16"( 26.67mm). Some rolls come with dedicated spacers in them (as shown in the second photo) so you may need to replace one section with a smaller diameter rod. 7/8" (21mm) worked in my case.

-To calculate the length of each piece you will need  to add 28mm to the width of you roll of paper. Example: 18" wide (457.2mm) roll of paper + 28mm = 485.2mm length per piece.

• 1 piece of 1/8" x ¾" angle aluminum 

-To calculate the length of this piece you will need  to add 32mm to the width of you roll of paper. Example: 18" wide (457.2mm) roll of paper + 32mm = 489.2mm length

• 1 piece of wood or other mounting surface. I recommend a minimum width of 7 ¼"  (184.15mm)( common 2x8" from local hardware store) In the photos I used ¾"(19mm) plywood cut to 8" (203.2mm)wide.

-To calculate the length of this piece you will need  to add 40mm to the width of you roll of paper. Example: 18" wide (457.2mm) roll of paper + 40mm = 497.2mm length

• 6 x #8 pan head (flat) screws of appropriate length. Countersunk screws may cause the side pieces to crack.

When you assemble the pieces together you may want to apply a small amount of glue into the “L” shaped slots to hold the aluminum angle in place. You want a slight gap between the aluminum angle and the wood. The tighter the gap, the better the paper tears but it also means the paper will be harder to feed through when you change the roll.
