Microscope arms are expensive. What isn't expensive are the multitude of vesa monitor mounts available. I wanted to use a vesa compatible gas spring arm for my Eakins digital microscope. I also wanted the ability to use standard bi/trinocular microscopes using the same adapter.
I designed a semi universal vesa adapter that accepts different ring adapter inserts. 2 parts. The Vesa adapter, and a 50mm ring insert to hold the digital microscope. Insert design should be easily modifiable to support other ring sizes. f3d and 3mf files are attached.
Printed in purple Overture PLA on a Prusa Mini+
Mounting screws for the ring insert are M5
Gas spring arm is a generic from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0779JSRH5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I recommend mounting the arm to a wall as any slight vibration from your desk/workbench will also be magnified if the arm is directly attached.
