The windshield/wiper cowl on the Porsche Boxster (986) are notoriously prone to breaking. It's possible this may work for the 996 911 as well. When this happens the ends become loose and flap around and the cowl no longer makes a good seal against the windshield.
I created this insert to use the space/angles of the cowl to make a hold down insert. You will need to use a regular m6 locknut, the factory nut wont fit due to its large integrated washer.
Print this in PETG, ASA, ABS, PA12, etc. PLA won't hold up.
I recommend the bottom layer be at least 10 layers thick, if not solid. Print with the angled part at the top, no supports needed.
Print with at least 35% infill for the rest.
This one is modeled for the passenger side. Just mirror the model in your slicer if you need the driver side. My cowl was completely missing the pieces so this fits in against the car itself. If you have any bits on the bottom I would remove them so the cover will fit and you get a solid hold down.
This is a prototype/work in progress.
