These are mounting rails for a workshop wall storage system. the most commonly known manufacturer is probably Allit, but there are many other manuracurers for the same system. I've got two big boxes from Stanley and one from a german manufacturer called "Mauser OK" From what I could gather, they all share the same dimensions so they are compatible to ech other. So is this one.
There are 2x (225mm wide), 1.5x(168mm) and 1x(112mm) width rails, I made a mounting aid for the 2x rails that makes screwing them to the wall quite easy. The 2x rails come in 2 an 4 screws variants, 2 screws should be more than enough imo. I recommend mounting them on a wooden board, dry, brick and concrete walls are way too much hassle to put that many holes in. To mount the rails, use the adapter or sketch some lines on your board, distances are 45mm |top edge| <-> |top edge| .
The design focuses on quick, stable and cost effective printing. Print as hot as your filament will allow you, no fan necessary. Print with a 0.6mm nozzle, 0.8mm extrusion width, 0.4mm layer height, 1.6mm bottom thickness. 2 perimeter walls should work, infill is irrelevant. If you maximize your usable bed size, 8-9 2x pieces should fit on an ender 3 buildplate. For me, those 9 pieces took 4,5h to print, flow is the limiting factor here.
I did the math, with reasonably cheap filament (~18€/kg) you end up cheaper than the plates you can buy, but you'll need more screws and those aren't free either. It's more stable and more customizable though, and you can fit it to smaller surfaces as well, like if you only want one rail to hang boxes on close to your drill press or your printer, so you can put stuff in. You'll also have more choices regarding colors and materials, obviously. The allit system is easier and way quicker to mount though, so there's that.
I also designed rails that can be printed vertically, those should work well on coreXY machines, since that way you can fit many more pieces on your buildplate. Lemme know if you're interested, I'll put the design out if there's demand for it.
I made some toolholders for this system as well, which I will release as I get the time, I will update this site accordingly to include links to those designs.
