I designed this simple model to be able to mount Wyze Outdoor plugs to the underside of my work bench. The bracket was designed a bit taller than needed to allow me to attach 1/16" (1.58mm) thick rubber pads to the back of the plug (as seen in the one photo). This helps give the plug a good grip on the surface of the wood and helps cushion the force from tightening the bracket down. The holes are 5mm in diameter and I used #10 wood screws to attach them to my work bench.

The bracket is designed to mount the plugs horizontally to the underside of a table, work bench etc. It might also work for a vertical mount up against a nice solid surface, provided that you add something to the back of it like rubber to give it some grip.

I also added a slightly shorter version that is designed for use with no rubber pads on the back of the plug. It just holds the plug directly to the surface. However, I have not tested this shorter version. Once the plug is mounted with this version, there should be an approximately 1/16" (1.58mm) gap between the bracket and the surface. This allows you to fully clamp the plug in place and still have some additional adjustment.

It's probably pretty obvious, but this is the orientation you should print the model in.

Print settings that I used:

  • .6mm nozzle
  • .35mm layer height (SPEED profile in Prusaslicer)
  • 5 perimeters
  • snug supports for the holes with .25mm top and bottom Z distance

You can probably get away with using no supports for the holes, but I used them anyways since snug supports are simple to remove. I used PLA to print all 3 of my brackets.

I have included both .stl and .step files for each version.
