9/28/23 UPDATE: The Rook 2020 mk1 will have a geared Z setup using a belt system over a gearbox. I highly recommend using that instead of this mod unless you want a very high gear ratio.
I wanted a geared z on the rook to prevent the belted z from dropping when powered off. Remixed the existing motor mount to increase the offset for the planetary gearbox and added more mounts to increase stiffness and prevent it from sagging. Uses 4 M3x45mm for the motor mounts and 5 M5x8mm for mounting to the frame. All credit goes to Rolohaun for the original design.
Note: Only tested using a Stepperonline 17HS15-1684S-PG5. It has a gearbox height of 27.3mm, width of 36mm, and 5.18 gear ratio. Also uses a 8mm shaft so a different 20t idler is needed. The internal cutout for the gearbox is 28mm for a bit of an airgap.
Remix or modify the file to suit your needs. I made it in tinkercad so model probably isn't perfect.
