My aproach for a filament clip to stay on Prusament Spools with their iconic hexagonal holes. No more loose ends and entangled filament. Of course with Prusa logo. Small but beautiful. The clip can always stay on the spool. It fits tightly in the outer holes of the Prusament spools. It has six holes for filament end so that insert orientation does not matter. You will always find a matching hole for filament. Of course the clip should be inserted from the inside of the spool .
The hexagonal holes on the Prusa spools differ all a bit and you have to try some holes out to find your best fit.![]()
There are four versions of my clip available for download:
V6 is a tiny bit smaller regarding the riffles on the hexagonal pin. This is if V7 is to tight to insert for you.
V7 is a tight fit with slightly bigger inner riffles on the hexagonal pin. This is if V6 is to loose to insert for you.
The version numbers are engraved on the bottom side of each clip.
I recommend printing them in PETG because some flexibility is necessary. 0,4 nozzle with 0,20 layer hight is sufficient. No supports needed. If you print in multicolor with MMU2s it is way more efficient to print a lot of the clips on one print plate, because filament change occupies most of the printing time.
