When installing a MicroAir thermostat in my Alliance Valor 40V13, the trim work got in the way. Rather than trimming the trim work, I created this adapter plate that I screw into the wall, then use 3M Command Velcro strips to mount to the plate. This helps it fit in the location by overhanging just a bit over each trim piece.
