This is a spool holder that I designed to try and keep my printer motors from over working and wearing out parts before there time should be up. This has metal bearings, doesn't take much force to spool the filament into your extruder.
I used PLA to print my parts. 25% infill. .2mm layer height.
I cut a piece of all thread to the length I wanted. The supports on bottom slide to adjust the width of the spool.
The bearings I used were from Amazon link below. No affiliation besides they are cheap. I used 4 bearings!
