This adapter ring is designed for use with the Bambu Lab AMS.
It snaps onto the spools tightly and uses teeth inside to prevent the ring from slipping around the spool.
This adapter ring also works on slightly damaged/dented spools.
24 Minutes (without preparation time, with Bambu PLA Basic).
A Bambu Studio 3MF is available for download.
Designed for 0.4mm nozzles, first layer at 0.2mm, other layers at 0.28mm.
I recommend 1 wall and 100% concentric infill, with 2 layers of lines on top.
This version is designed for spools with an outer diameter of 200mm and an inner diameter (hole) of 55mm, such as Polymaker or FormFutura spools.
Feel free to comment if you find other brands where this adapter ring fits - or brands where it doesn't fit so that I can possibly make modified versions.
Push down the outer ring first, then pull the center parts over the edge of the hole and push down on their corners.
Cardboard spools are usually lighter than plastic spools, so when a cardboard spool is near empty, the AMS sometimes yanks the filament hard enough for the spool to lift out of the slot and get stuck. Consider adding weight such as metal balls or large marbles into the center of the spool when it's near ampty to avoid this. About 100g are usually sufficient.
This model or its manufactured/printed version may not be sold or provided as a part of a commercial service. But of course you're free to use it internally even if you're running a commercial 3D-printing service.
