The handles of my kayak broke off so I designed new ones. I added an inset of the Hobie logo to press fit inside the lid. Use glue on the logo if you like. The logo parts have already been reduced in size to fit inside the lid.
Hobie handles have a metal support built into them so I added a hole for a 3 inch by 4.7mm diameter bolt if desired. This adds strength to the handle and I recommend it. Just power drive it in to the hilt, no nut required.
I designed a “knot box” to hide the small knot you must make before gluing down the lid with CA glue. Use contrasting colors for logo and lid so logo stands out.
Add length of 3mm 550 Paracord and tie a small tight knot that fits inside the knot compartment and cut off the excess leaving as little extra cord as possible.
There is a plug to cover the bolt hole on the side.
There are 4mm printable pins to use for aligning and gluing the lid to the main body.
I printed mine at .15 PETG, support only for the knot box area.
