My dad always told me you don't #### where you eat. Different principle, but probably best to not do it where you clean also. I have a little bin where my nozzle is cleaned by a brush at the back of my 2.4 350 enclosure. This bin works perfectly, but is less accessible.
This handy little prime pellet purge bin sits at the front or on the side. The nozzle purges filament into a pellet that then is kicked into the bucket. I've not needed a line around prints when using these pellets. No line to scrape! It is also a great macro for using in your load filament routine. The clean functions to remove pellets that may be sitting there prior to creating the pellet.
Bonus: all mounts act as a clip for the base panel to keep it secure.
The front mount sits the bin at the front left edge of the print surface. It uses 6x3 magnets. I personally use a G clamp to friction fit into the holes. Tip: if you fail at inserting the magnets in the correct orientation (like me!) into the base mount then drill a small hole and try again!
Big Update: Another few options are available including a deep bin on a flush mount. Bins are also available in small and large sizes. I had to use a rectangular metal object inside this deep bucket to get the magnet secured here… a nice little challenge (pic attached).
Edit: thanks to jeremy for the video
Macro Code to insert in Print Start:
Edit: I have been playing with an updated the macro as I found sometimes the nozzle might pick up a stray at the bin and can result in an unintended passenger escaping to land randomly. This is also the motivation for the new bin style. Both these have solved the problem. The new bin is awesome. As above, exercise caution knowing most of these moves are incremental and a Z error can equal a bed scratch!
