This is a small rack designed to hold 5 Dell Optiplex MFF servers. Includes long shelves for the front, shorts shelves for the rear, 5 port patch panel and “shelf” for Unifi Flex Mini 5 port switch.
I designed this to be a compact “rack” to hold 5 Dell Optiplex MFF servers, a patch panel and switch. The frame is assembled from 4x 200mm, 4x 300mm, 4x 400mm & 2x 360mm 2020 aluminium extrusion and held together with L corner brackets. The overall dimensions are 240mm wide, 400mm high & 340mm deep.
The patch panel is designed to take standard keystone jacks and the switch “shelf” is the perfect size for a Unifi Flex Mini 5 port switch.
I chose to design and use short shelves at the rear of each server to cut down on print time and filament but they could also be used at the front, I personally thing a full width shelf looks better.
Also included is a remix of an extrusion cable tie (zip tie) clip (this model - https://www.printables.com/model/6593-2020-extrusion-zip-tie-clip )that I widened to take 12mm velcro straps as I find these better for cable management. They are stiff to turn on the first attempt so that they hold in place securely.
The holes in the shelves are for M5 bolts, they are a snug fit!
I printed all the parts with the “face” side down for two reasons. 1, the switch shelf has to be printed this way for best results and 2, because the PEI plate on my printer left a nice texture so it looks good.
