This is a replacement climate control knob for a 2004 Chevrolet Astro, and likely works with some other late ‘90s and early ’00s GM interiors. (One of my original knobs had its stem split, much like the volume and tuner knobs on the radio, which tends to result in the knob getting clocked incorrectly with respect to its climate control settings.)

Source is available on GitHub under oldlaptop/astro-knobs, along with other interior control knobs for the same vehicle; note that it is under an ISC licence, specifically. As with my other replacements for this van, you'll probably find you need to tweak stem_id for your machine, material, and phase of the moon.

As the block comment in the source code says, on an FDM machine I recommend orienting with the angled “nose” facing down; I found no support or brim was really helpful in this orientation, and mechanical strength (even of the tiny limiter pin on the bottom) seems acceptable. Because this is an illuminated knob, I recommend a translucent material; the action photo on this posting is Prusament PETG Carmine Red, with a white acrylic paint marker for the indicator on the nose. You might find a multi-material print works well, with a clear polyester or similar material as the light-guide core for that indicator, but I don't really have the ability to test that here. Multi-material is certainly how GM did it: the original knob appears to be multi-shot injection molded (at least three, as far as I can tell, including the soft-touch overmolding).
