I wanted a simple filament roll rack that I could print on my BamuLab X1C. This is a large print which may not fit on many printers. I'll link to a remix of this split into 2 parts if someone makes it.
I designed it to work with 16mm diameter dowels I bought (they may have been labeled as ⅔"). I bought two 4' dowels and cut them down to four 21" rods.
Print the test piece first to test the fit with the rods. For me, I was able to get a friction fit that was still easy to insert. You can also glue the rod in place if you're a little loose.
There is about a ½" / 13mm clearance between the bottom and top rods when removing 200mm diameter rolls.
In my pictured print, I used PETG, no brim, no supports. I printed it flat (shortest possible height) with 2 top and bottom layers, 2 walls, and a grid infill at 10%. So pretty light but it's strong enough.
