Introducing the TurboSnail Part Cooler for the Pitstop Extruder. Expect this to perform on part with the Prusa shroud given a moderate bump in fan speed to compensate for the added restriction. The idea is to have a smaller, more directed stream of air apply stronger cooling local to the nozzle. Whether it improves quality is difficult to gauge - the stock shroud is more than adequate, but there is a likely benefit to not cooling the rest of the part as much. To be honest I was mainly having fun modeling the various elements and iterating the resulting air streams.

The cooler replaces the front cover of the stock blower fan. Simply pry the clips upward, away from the side with the wires. Do this at all three locations prior to pulling the cover off to avoid breaking clips to keep this mod reversible.

I designed this through several iterations in PETG with a .6mm nozzle, but the final version is printed in polycarbonate with a standard .4mm nozzle with very clean results. Would also highly recommend using a silicone sock on the heatblock for insulation.

V1.2 includes ribs across the the nozzle outlet to prevent sagging, and adjusts the height of the fan to increase clearance slightly, in addition to smoothing out the external geometry. If you prefer the old aesthetic, the .F3D file has design history that potentially rolls it back.

Print with the nozzle outlet face flat on the bed, with supports for the rest of the part. Support blocker file is provided to keep the ducts clear.
