E3D "Hemera V6" Revo - Delta-P for Bear Extruder

Can be used with the Bear Extruder v1 and derivatives. 

Why?

After years of service, my trusty V6 suddenly kept developing a persistent leak. Annoyed, I decided it was time for a change, to the Revo system.

However there are two things I don't like about the drop-in V6 replacement (E3D Revo Six):

• The cost increase over a V6. Having multiple printers, the costs stack and rapidly exceeds acceptable levels.
• The way in which they are maintaining the same length as V6. Both cooling and cable routing seem to be compromised.

With this mod, both issues are alleviated. Plus adopting Revo essentially on a >20% discount.

Cutting the PTFE

The PTFE tube needs to be cut shorter then the original V6 tube. For which you can use vertigo235's PTFE cutter design to cut the PTFE to the proper length.

• (Insert some filament into the tube during cutting, to avoid deformation)
• Cut one end of the PTFE to 90-degrees
• Fully insert that into the hotend
• Cut the PTFE at “50mm”

Notes

There is no “spring retention mechanism” holding the heater in place when no nozzle is installed. I haven't found this to be an inconvenience; the wires keep things in place when swapping a nozzle. Don't remove the spring though, it's still an important part of the hotend!

This upgrade reduces the Z-axis length by 3.4mm. You may need to make firmware changes to pass the Z-height calibration during the selftest, or remove the nozzle and move the Z-probe up a little to pass the test.
