Can be used with the Bear Extruder v1 and derivatives.
After years of service, my trusty V6 suddenly kept developing a persistent leak. Annoyed, I decided it was time for a change, to the Revo system.
However there are two things I don't like about the drop-in V6 replacement (E3D Revo Six):
With this mod, both issues are alleviated. Plus adopting Revo essentially on a >20% discount.
BOM (one of each) | Cost |
---|---|
Revo Nozzle | € 24.50 |
Revo HeaterCore | € 34.50 |
Trianglelab “Hemera V6 Heatsink” | € 7.- |
E3D Revo Extension Cable Kit | € 9.- |
Total cost | € 75.- |
The PTFE tube needs to be cut shorter then the original V6 tube. For which you can use vertigo235's PTFE cutter design to cut the PTFE to the proper length.
There is no “spring retention mechanism” holding the heater in place when no nozzle is installed. I haven't found this to be an inconvenience; the wires keep things in place when swapping a nozzle. Don't remove the spring though, it's still an important part of the hotend!
This upgrade reduces the Z-axis length by 3.4mm. You may need to make firmware changes to pass the Z-height calibration during the selftest, or remove the nozzle and move the Z-probe up a little to pass the test.
This is a mod for the BearExxa v1. It's a remix of the Delta-P duct, originally created by teookie.
