This was designed to be functional first, then aesthetically pleasing, with realism and scale being my least concern. I wanted a "bumper" that was actually a wheel stop.
I did not want my couplers crashing into anything, and I didn't really want the car bodies hitting the bumper either.
The bumper is well above coupler height, and the wheel stops are far enough forward that the bodies of my biggest boxcars don't touch.
NOTE -- The left and right sides are different. The sides sit on the outside of the rails with the wheel stops on top of the rail.
ALSO NOTE -- Having printed a few of these, I have decided they are just a little to "tall" (vertical axis). Recommend printing with the Z axis at 80% to 90% for better clearance to the rolling stock.
UPDATE 26 AUG 2023 -- Added one-piece "resin" STL. Ready to print with supports. Makes three bumpers.
