There's a bunch of Dewalt Battery Holders out there, but I like IR Blinx's design.

This is a remix of IR Blinx's excellent model of a battery holder for the Dewalt FlexVolt series.

I found IR Blinx's model a little tight for my liking and I didn't like the fit printing it at 105% as many have suggested in his comments so I decided to spend some time modifying the stl file.

Changes (shown in the pics) include:

  • added the two legs at the bottom to slide into the spring loaded battery receiver locations
  • took 0.1 in off the top surfaces of the clips that slide under the overhangs on the battery.
  • cut way back on the height of the clip that interacts with the snap on the top of the battery that you push down to release the battery from the cover
  • added a bunch of radii for aesthetics

I've printed it in both PLA and PETG and it seems to work well with both.  The only thing left is to check the longevity of the looser fit.  I'm sure it will wear…  it's just a matter of how much… Shouldn't matter much though, the clip on top of the battery is what holds it in place.

Update 7/16/23:  added in version without the two legs.  Seems my new Dewalt impact wrench has smaller batteries without the spring loaded receivers for the legs…
