How to print
The 3mf files have all the support settings configured for you, so you just need to choose your filament profile.
Prints just fine with a 0.3 mm layer height, but you can use a lower one to get nicer-looking curves. All the stands in the pictures are printed at 0.3 mm.
An interesting problem I discovered when designing this
- Currently (2.6.0 beta 2), organic supports try to avoid crossing through the same object they are supporting, as well as other bodies that are considered parts of this object.
- Organic supports will HAPPILY generate right through another object
- At least one part of the object has to touch the bed, otherwise prusaslicer will drop it down automatically. As of 2.6.0 beta 2, you cannon disable this
- Although organic supports are stable enough during printing, the phone stand would not be able to support a phone with just these supports (unless i make them super thicc)
- To solve this, I added a base that is a separate object, so the supports will fuse to it, giving the stand something to stand on. I've also added a 0.01x0.01 cylinder as part of the main object, which prevents prusaslicer from snapping it to the bed.
