Mouse Jiggler

This Mouse Jiggler runs on a clock base, keeping your computer from going to sleep due to lack of mouse movement. It does not require use of other software, such as Caffeine.

When assembled, the mouse is placed on the tray. The movement of the clock rotates the Pad and the attached pattern to keep the computer awake.

Non-3D Printed Parts:

Print the pattern file, scaled so the Pad piece (below) fits just inside the black circle.

The parts:

Base: This piece covers the clock and arms.

Pipe: This piece connects the Base to the Tray.

Tray: This piece holds your mouse.  If your mouse doesn't fit, the part can be edited as needed. Keep the central hole large enough that the clock arm protrudes 2.5 mm.

Pad: This piece holds the pattern that keeps the mouse from causing the computer to sleep. It is not permanently attached to the clock arm. This allows the clock to be removed easily.

Assembly:

Print all the parts, then glue together the Base, Pipe and Tray. Note that these parts align via the engraved circles on the Base and Tray. Before gluing, ensure the hole through the three pieces aligns to allow the clock to fit.

Insert the clock. The arm the controls the movement of the hands should extend into the Tray by about 2.5 mm.

Trim then glue the Pattern to fit on the Pad.

Align the hole on the bottom of the Pad with the metal Minute arm of the clock, which is projecting into the Tray area.

Usage:

Place the active mouse on the Tray. The Pad will rotate just beneath the mouse sensor and will register movement, keeping the computer from entering Sleep mode.

This model was tested with a Logitech M510 wireless mouse. It should work with other models and older ball-style/non-optical mouses.
