The original cover falls off when you decide to look at it and the wind from your blinking eyelashes blows it off.
This design uses the metal casing of the mount and the lip of the mount under the scope to hold this cover on. it locates in the original holes to help secure and align the cover.
You can remove the battery cover, put it in a Peli case or shove it in your dirty washing for the flight home and this cover will stay on. no more looking for it in a field if you carried the mount from the car.
The file is made up of 3 parts.
The main cover - This can be printer as is and it will print the detail fine. place face down on the plate and the detail will bridge fine on most printers and all other items need no supports.
The remaining 2 files can be used to colour up the model for that extra cool look and to personalise the model.
Can be printed in a good PLA as its stiff but really any material can be used.
Print at a 0.12 layer height to make the surface smooth and look great but can be printer at 0.2 with no issues to the top clip.
