The wooden parts of my two wind chimes fell victim to the elements, so I designed a new top and clapper to combine both 5-flute sets to one with 10 flutes. Those could also quite easily be made from aluminum extruded pipes available from your local hardware store (see suggestion below).

Both provided top and clapper can be printed in the given orientation without supports.

For the sail, I've used a down-scaled version of Darth Vader - No MMU (scaled to 50% in both x- and y- direction, 100% in z).

The whole assembly is held together with waxed 1mm cord, which can easily be pulled through the holes with use of some thin heavy thread and held in place with knots.

Aluminum pipes (one of each):

  • 8.0mm OD, 1.5mm wall thickness, 100mm, 110mm, 120mm, 130mm, 140mm
  • 9.5mm OD, 1.5mm wall thickness, 128mm, 140mm, 153mm, 166mm, 178mm

The parts shown in the pictures were printed in extrudr Greentec Pro silver.
