I'm not a big fan of the Sovol blue, so I wanted to upgrade the Y-belt tensioner knob with something relatively easy (a cover, not a replacement knob). This particular cover makes your SV06 3x snappier.
Instructions:
My method for the 2-color design is to first print the icon in color A, and then print the knob in color B right after on top of it. The knob design comes with a negative space that accommodates the icon already printed on the bed.
How to do it:
- Download and use the .3mf files (important), as these include positional parameters to ensure the icon and knob line up properly.
- Print the icon first in the filament color of your choice. Remove the skirt line once done.
- Change your filament to the color you want your knob to be
- Print the knob. Done!
My slicer settings:
- 0.3mm layer height
- 0 solid top layers
- 3 solid bottom layers
- Infill 0%
- 3 perimeter vertical shells (gave me an extremely satisfying sliding fit on top of the original Y-tensioner knob)
Want to double check that the icon and knob prints line up?
- Open the printer icon .3mf file, and take note of its position (in my case X=109.96, Y=108.29, Z=0.15).
- Then open the knob file, and import the icon .3mf file into the same project. (Toggle whatever setting in your slicer allows you to see them sliced on top of each other)
- Now ensure that the icon object is positioned in the coordinates you recorded earlier. They should line up perfectly. If they don't, tweak the coordinates so that they do.
