I ran out of M5 tee nuts, and couldn't bear the thought of waiting another month for more to arrive from China. Thankfully I had some M5 jam nuts lying around, and made this adapter so I could use them with my 20mm t-slot extrusions.

The plastic does not carry any load - it only prevents the nut from rotating until it begins to bite into the extrusion, at which point you can torque the fastener down as hard as you like.

The parts in the photos were printed on a Prusa mini on the verge of thermal runaway, with generic PLA filament that was wetter than the Pacific ocean.

The parts can be printed without supports. The jamnut_adapter variant has a hole for fastener clearance, but does not have clean bridging. The jamnut_adapter_bridge variant has clean bridging, but less fastener clearance.

If you're not sure what to print, just go with jamnut_adapter_bridge.
