I designed this for my girlfriend so that it could:
It is surprisingly difficult to find a pillbox that can fulfil all of these criteria. Most of the pill boxes I found were either too small, difficult to fit in a small bag or just ugly. In particular, a lot of them look (unsurprisingly) medical. So, I tried to design something that looks cool, it's packable and contains enough pills. Then I decided to also add space for an AirTag, just because I think it's useful (and pills are pretty important).
This model is composed of 6 parts, some of them have variants:
The drawer can hold about 18 7.5mmX 21.5mm pills plus about 5 other of various dimensions. I know it's a random measurement. The chonkiest pill needs to be max 9mm.
I printed all parts out of PLA, 0.2mm resolution and 10% to 100% infill (see below for print guide). The top and bottom enclosures are held together with M5*8 hex bolts and the drawer handle is attached to the drawer itself with M2*8 or M2*16 hex bolts (depending on the handle you choose). The M5 bolts screw into brass inserts that you need to drive in place with a soldering iron. I have tried to cut threads directly in the PLA but I was not getting very good results.
I think I might add improved designs based on the issues that might arise. I also have plans for a “dock" of some kind that the drawers can slot in for multi-day packability. If you have any questions shoot me a message.
