When I create concepts using my 3D printer, I like to make things that only a 3D printer can!
One of these is spheroids. Based on the shape with the internal overhangs, it makes it virtually impossible to make by any other method of manufacturing.
The parts are designed with a slice in each side that allows the openings/protrusions to flex inward/outward to accommodate tolerance changes.
Try building a cube of 2x2, 3x3, or more.
