Designed these holders for my dad so that he can easily sit the chiller unit on top of his PrimeWeld TIG325X Tig Welder.
Yes I know it's probably not the best idea to have a reservoir of coolant sitting on the top of a welder, but it works for now because of limited space in the shop and it is actually rather stable, you would have to hit it pretty hard to knock it over. And it looks great :)
One note, you need to remove the front feet from the chiller before using these or else the feet will interfere.
Print settings…
I printed these in PETG its high layer adhesion tendency and ease of printing. The high layer adhesion of PETG makes these parts very strong and ensures that the “fingers” won't break off easily. PETG also has a decently high temperature resistance for the non climate-controlled garage where these parts will be used.
Printing orientation - rotate the model so that the “fingers” point upwards like in the photos. I'll try to fix the model so that is the default orientation.
At least 3 walls if printing with a 0.4mm nozzle (2 or 3 if using 0.6mm or larger nozzle, I used 3).
Infill 15-25% is fine, I used 15% and it is plenty strong.
Supports from build plate only, the cutouts in the sides can use bridging. I used Conical Supports in Cura and they worked great.
