When using oatmeal as a bedding material, I had to pick the worms out with a tweezer to mix with the bird food. I hate doing that, so I first changed the bedding to a more granular grind of material. I have been using Buckwheat cereal, but I think any cereal type of grain should work.
Together with this sifter, pour some of the worms and cereal into this sifter and shake it gently over a garbage can. Magic, you now have only mealworms that you can gather on the unperforated area and pour out through the opening.
The handle should be glued on.
