I made this model because I didn't like my umbilical going to the A drive bracket as it was too close to my Z belt, and meant I needed a longer wire run. The other reason was so that I could remove my remaining Z cable chain and simply utilize and umbilical wire run from this mount to the bottom of the printer - so I am now completely drag-chain-less.

I made the Cover Plate long enough to hold the wires behind it and it has worked well enough to keep wiring in place as needed.

If you look at the model, you can see I made this as low-profile as possible. It's easy to run the wires I have, but if you're running really thick wires or a lot for some reason, you may have issues with the opening size. I'd also recommend you make sure your wire crimps don't prevent your wires from being able to feed through.

Needed hardware:

  • PG7 cable gland
  • I forgot what length M3 screw I used, but it was a spare from my LDO kit
  • 1 M3 hammer head T nut
