This is a case for the base station of the simpleRTK2B Starter Kit LR from Ardusimple (https://www.marotronics.de/simpleRTK2B-Starter-Kit-LR-IP67)

I bought the RTK Mower Alfred (https://www.marotronics.de/GNSS-RTK-Mower-Alfred) and had some issues with assembly of the ArduMower GPS RTK base station kit. So I decided to design another case with several improvements:

  • Protection of GPS sensor and cable against weather
  • Comfortable space for easier mounting
  • Dedicated space for power supply
  • Long term reliability by avoiding USB connectors
  • Supply by normal power line
  • Integrated fixation of the PCB, especially for the XBEE daughter module

The thickness of the cover is 1.8mm. Comparing the signal quality of the GPS signal quality with (PETG) and without cover, antenna gain loss was about 2dB.

All parts can be printed without support.

Needed material:
  • 1x RTK Base Station
  • 12x screw 2.9 x 6.5mm
  • 1x screw M4x20mm
  • 1x nut M4
  • ¾" pipe to be used as a mounting pillar

If you do not have the assembly kit from Marotronics (https://www.marotronics.de/ArduMower-GPS-RTK-Basisstation-Bausatz), you also need a base plate with a diameter of 160mm and 5mm thickness to mount the GPS sensor on it.
If your base plate is thinner than 5mm then you could print a distance ring. You could design one with https://www.printables.com/model/160285-gasket-ring-factory
