Dec 20, 2020: Some materials/prints will have a loose grip. Try printing 97-99.5% size depending how loose your first print was. I use thin double stick tape, but I make it less sticky so it isn't permanent.
Dec 14, 2020: Added a version for the older 23 Standard backs, with the completely rounded right-hand grip. As with the other designs, there has been some room left for double-stick tape, gaffer tape, or felt/foam tape for a tighter hold.
Don't have a Mamiya Press Model 3 back? Nor a grip/release for your Universal? No problem! This grip clips onto the right-hand side of any of the other roll film backs: Models 1, K, and 2. I am working on a version for the completely rounded right-hand side (some early Model 1 and Model K). Add your cable release and you are set.
All versions allow use of the darkslide holder on Model 2 backs. The “B” versions of this grip can be installed with thick double-stick tape and allow opening of the film door with the grip still on, though in some cases you may need to sand just a bit.
The main versions require removing the clip before loading/unloading film, however this can be very handy for the tons of backs out there with faulty doors. This acts as a lock!
The TSR40 version is designed to take the Vello TSR-40 from B&H, or similar cable releases.
There is some flex to the full wrap-around version of this grip so print with what you know to be sturdy. I go 4 walls, 30% infill, but 25 and maybe 20 should be fine ... layer height based on taste.
