There are a few important considerations/tips/changes you'll have to make to accommodate the BexGears kit. This applies to both the original BexGears Prusacaster model as well as this remix:
- The BexGears bridge is ~6mm closer to the neck but the saddles don't allow for that amount of adjustment so your intonation will never be right. Luckily, the saddles use an M3 thread so you can replace the original screws with an M3x20 machine screw
- While not included in this remix, I used heat-set inserts and machine screws to hold my bridge in and it's working very well
- The neck pickup's screws are ~5mm too long by default and either need to be cut down or replaced with M3 screws. They aren't originally M3, so you kinda have to force it in there
- I was able to split the main body in Prusa Slicer so it printed in two pieces in the normal orientation. It's too early to call, but it seems that the steel rods provide sufficient strength to let you do this
- 8mm is damn close to 5/16" and it's much easier to find 5/16" rod in North America
- Using modifiers in Prusa Slicer to set 1 perimeter only on the top layer leaves a really nice surface look
- I have not tested these changes - I made them based on difficulties I had in assembling the kit
Remix changes:
- Lengthen electronics cutout to better fit the BexGears pickup selector switch
- Increase the diameter of the barrel jack cutout by 1mm
- Remove unneeded hole near electronics cutout
- Main body, small body, and pins are unchanged (models included for posterity)
