Printing
Printed in Black PETG (spray painted with black outdoor paint to further limit UV exposure and to seal any potential gaps) at the following settings: Gyroid infill of 50%, 8 bottom layers, 0.2 layer height, 5 perimeters, 8 top layers.
Approximate print time of 7h40m, 79g filament used.
Printer Brand: Prusa I3 MK3S+
Variants
I've included two configurations:
Model #1
Model #2
Project
I was unable to locate a previously existing model for 4" Dutch Lap Siding, and I required customized angles.
Process
I imaged the profile of the 4" Double Dutch Lap siding I have, build a compound-angle model, and then attached the camera utilizing the the flat mounting plate from
https://www.printables.com/model/333860-reolink-doorbell-accessories
which in turn, accepts the Reolink metal mount plate.
Additional Hardware, Materials
For additional strength in coupling the pieces, two heat staked brass inserts (two M3 by 0.5 pitch by 6mm length) were installed in the mount, and the two components connected with two M3 by 12mm Stainless Steel Flat Head screws. Mounting screws (1.5" length in my case) are dependent on the depth of the siding and backing material.
While the PETG was chosen for the more suitable outdoor glass transition temperature and inherent UV resistance, I also applied Black outdoor rated plastic paint to further seal and protect the print.
The components and building envelop penetrations were sealed with weather suitable caulking material during final assembly.
