Adjusted to my custom CoreXY printer
Printed with Tecbears transparent PETG
Nothing wrong with the model, but I don't know how to properly print clear filaments. :D
Transparency turned out well. I bet you'd be able to see the skull better if I sanded the bottom smooth; the textured build plate doesn't allow you to see through very well.
I adjusted my settings accordingly to a YouTube video I watched on making clear pla clearer I have not done any post processing to make it clearer hopefully it will work
Hey, Joe. This is pretty cool. But, how can I create a void in a model? I don't know how to use all those fancy 3D modelling programs. I just use 3DBuilder. I've tried "Subtracting the "void-mold" piece, but no dice. (Pun intended) Starting to get the hang of the very basics of OpenSCAD. But, can this be done in 3DBuilder? I've got a friend who's granddaughter has lost both parents & I'm wanting to do a special piece for her. If you've got time to mess with this, I sure would appreciate some help. (edited)
For me it only works, when you shine light from underneath it. Great test model for transparent printing though! (edited)
Printed the die on a Mini+ with PVB filament. Still waiting on IPA delivery to smooth its surface. But it’s already looking very shiny! Thanks for the model!
While this model certainly would have came out better on a resin printer, it has a pretty cool effect when printed on an FDM if the filament is sufficiently clear.
Nice idea! I tried to print it with transparent PLA on a MINI+ (i.e. SLA) with solid infill, but apparently the transparency is not enough to see inside. Pity!
@mardifel_194996 that's actually FDM, SLA is a form of resin printing
Sorry, of course you are right. Still getting confused with all the 3-letter-acronyms ;)
