Improved cooling for the Sprite and Sprite Pro extruders . The same extruder is used on the Ender 3 S1, Ender 3 S1 Pro, and probably some other new Creality 3D printers.

This mod for improved part cooling was designed around this mod that uses the same 5015 fan for cooling the heatsync and bringing the BL/CR touch a bit closer to the nozzle.

I wanted to be completely fair and mark the model as remix, but because the other part is completely made by me, even tho' I was inspired by his model, I was so proud about it, that I couldn't mark it as a remix. I also needed to add the part cooling duct model in case the original creator removes it, or significantly changes the model in a way it is no longer compatible.

What I added to the original model was that I removed the original mounting plate and redesigned it completely. The original model was not lining up perfectly to the nozzle (at least at that time). I also decided to add the 3rd mounting point to it to reduce vibrations, then made the entire thing thinner. I also made the holes a bit smaller so you can screw m3 screws inside it without using nuts. I did not bring any change to the reindeer shaped duct, so it's worth checking the original creator page in case he brought any improvements you may prefer.

  • I used 2x PC fan screws for mounting the 5015 fan into the shroud. Make sure not to get them too tight tho, or the part might crack. The alternative is to use whatever long screw you have laying around. I would take into consideration the added weight.
  • The part cooling shroud needs 3 x M3x6mm screws for mounting it into the extruder body.(same size as the ones used by creality on the CRtouch). Here's what I got of Aliexpress.
  • The part cooling duct needs 2 x M3x6mm screws. You should be able to screw them into the shroud without a nut, or a metalic insert. I printed everything in ASA and it is strong enough
  • The 5015 fans sold on the marked do not come with the plug used by Creality. Keep in mind they also inverted the cables so it doesn't match the polarity. Here is what I got of aliexpress: JST 1.25 mm 2 Pin Micro (you either match the colour code swap the cables inside the plug, or connect the red wire of the fan to the black of the adapter)

NOTE:

  • The right side screws remain unaffected.
  • There is enough space for mounting an ADXL345 without using any additional parts.

The heatsync cooling showcased in the pictures is designed from scratch by me and can be downloaded from here.
