Yes, the file is a simple rectangle cube, but its size replicated from corks you buy online, and the material/settings below is how to make it work.
After printing a cup mute ( here https://www.printables.com/model/454977-trumpet-mute-set-5), I realized I didn't have any cork material. So I did what anyone else here would do, I made my own. quick google and I got the dimensions of actual mute cork is (40x11x6.5mm). so I made a basic rectangle to those dimensions. I printed with eSun elastic TPE 83a, very squishy filament. I did about 20% infil, 2 perimeters, 3 top/bottom layers. You could probably use TPU as well. the TPE doesnt scratch or do anything to lacquered finishes on the yamaha trumpet this is used on.
Super glue bonded the TPE “cork” to the ASA mute well. have rubber bands on hand to hold the cork to the mute while it cures.
NOTE: you MUST use flexible filament for this to work. using PLA/PETG/etc will do more harm than good.
